If you enjoy cooking, you’ll love this kitchen. With a four-burner gas stove, full-sixed oven, toaster oven, and cute little coffee bar with a 10-cup coffeemaker (and a separate single-serve Keurig), coffee lovers are taken care of too.
The kitchen is fully stocked with quality pots, pans, utensils, knives, flatware, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, baking sheets…you get the point.
With eat-in seating for up to five at the table, and another three at the island, there’s enough room for your entire crew
CONVERSATIONS WITH A POINT OF VIEW
We call this the Lake/Sun Room for a reason—that’s obvious immediately upon entering the room.
Surrounded by sun it’s also got an unparalled view of Hansen Lake. Add to that its signature river-rock wood-burning fireplace, and you’ve got a place you’re not likely to leave, especially if you love conversation with the ones you love.
Another standout feature is the log wall by the stairs to the second floor. These are some of the original timbers that the Hansens laid in the early 1930s, and a testament to the outstanding legacy they left behind for others to enjoy. Frankly, I just think they’re cool.
A MASTERFUL BEDROOM
This bedroom / bathroom suite is a personal oasis within the oasis that is Sugar Maple.
With its own private entry and lockable door to the interior of the house, The Main Bedroom offers a wonderful level of privacy even when you’ve got a full house of family and friends. Its queen bed is calm and comfy, and the room has plenty of room for a porta-crib or Pack ‘n Play.
It’s super quiet, too, but close enough to the action so parents can have their fun, and rest easy that their baby is too.
THE SOUTHVIEW ROOM
Two queen beds make this a very comfortable bedroom, perfect for adults or a whole family for any multi-family getaway.
With a kinda wild full-height mirror on its closet door, it’s a room the fashionista in your party is sure to appreciate.
THE LAKEVIEW ROOM
This room was made for kids, or friends who want to relive the joys of a sleepover.
With a queen bed on the left, and two twin beds on the right, this cozy room provides a lovely view of Hansen Lake, and direct access to its natural air conditioning.
A ceiling fan tops it all off. Like all of Sugar Maple’s bedroom, it’s got immediate access to extra blankets and pillows.
THE LIBRARY
Right on the other side of the two-sided fireplace from the Lake/Sun Room is a little reader’s getaway appropriately named The Library.
As a confirmed introvert myself, I cherish being able to get a little distance from the conversation now and then, but still be within earshot if things get interesting.
With a selection of popular titles from a variety of non-fiction and fiction genres, The Library is a great Plan B should you forget your book at home.
It’s also the place to find to a number of board and card games for times when it’s preferable to be indoors.
IT'S NOT A ROOM, BUT…
Coming Up North, you probably expect a lake, plenty of trees, birds, and even the occasional herd of whitetail deer. And you certainly get that at Sugar Maple. But what really makes this place stand out is its HUGE, FLAT play area.
Wanna play football? No problem. This grassy field area offers some away-from-the-lake activities that can really make a vacation soar.
Home to the outdoor firepit and our signature cornhole set, it’s also the perfect Frisbee launchpad, “tag, you’re it!” arena, bikes on a gravel road raceway, and a great protected place for kids to run wild (while you relax on the deck with one eye on ’em, and the other on your favorite beverage.)
