When the weatherman said we might be able to see the Aurora Borealis phenomenon in action in May, I was a little skeptical. The only time I’ve ever seen the Northern Lights in Wisconsin was some time about 1982, as I was driving back north to college.
Well guess what? HE WAS RIGHT.
I stepped outside just to take a quick look into the northern sky, expecting to see nothing, and here’s what I saw: the actual ethereal phenomenon he promised.
To the human eye, it was right on the edge of perceptibility, but when I pulled out my iPhone, the camera sensor caught a lot more detail. What you see here is unedited or enhanced, and pretty darn amazing.
Now I can’t promise you’ll be blessed to see these incredible sights in person during your stay here—but you might.
